Audition Information

As auditions for each show approaches, specific information will be listed here. Check back just before the audition date of the show you are interested in to get details about auditions for that particular show. Auditions are at 7 p.m. at the Redlands Footlighters Theatre unless otherwise noted.

For all shows, please ensure that you are available for the performances dates - they are listed on the left. We are unable to respond personally to any requests for any information about rehearsals, etc. If you have any questions, please come to the audition and ask the director in person. Thanks!

Auditions for REDLANDS FOOTLIGHTERS ANNUAL YOUTH THEATRE WORKSHOP

The Quest Auditions: June 9, June 10, and 11 at 7pm on all days
Production Meeting: June 8, 1-5pm
Performances: July 25, 26, 27 & 28, 2013
Dress rehearsal on July 14 is a fundraiser for California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection Historical Society and Museum.

Workshop Fee: $39.50 if the parents participate; $200.00 if they are unable to participate. (Parent participation jobs: set construction, costume construction, hair & make-up the days of the performances, ticket sales, program ad sales, dragon wranglers, theatre clean-up, publicity, snacks, cast party, etc.)

The Quest, written by Pat Adeff, is a fantasy set in Celtic Medieval times. This outstanding theatre opportunity is open to all actors and actresses, ages 5 to 21. Bring your English and Irish accents with you to the auditions. Everyone who auditions will be given a part in the show.

Once upon a time, there was a magical kingdom ruled by a gracious, beloved Queen. She was a widow with seven beautiful daughters and one handsome son. She had ruled this kingdom by herself for almost five years, following her husband's unexpected death while he was on a hunting trip.

The people loved the Queen because she cared very deeply for them. However, even in this peaceful kingdom, evil lurks behind the scenes!

In The Quest you will find grand heroes, slimy evil villains, beautiful princesses, heroic warriors and warrioresses, even baby dragons -- HUNGRY baby dragons!

The workshop encompasses set design, costumes, make-up, special effects, stunts and more. Rehearsals run Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the afternoons and evenings, with set and costume design and construction on Saturdays. We are able to accommodate various schedules.

General Information

Who can audition for a Footlighters play?
Anyone! All are welcome! Please ensure that you are available for the performances dates - they are listed to the left, and also on the Current Season page.

What do I need to prepare for my audition?
For comedies and dramas, you don't need to prepare anything. For musicals, please prepare one song and bring your accompaniment on cassette tape or CD. We will provide a CD or tape player. Each play may have special requirements, so check above for more specific information.

What do I do at the audition?
You will fill out an audition form, so that we can contact you after the audition. You will be asked to read scenes for the characters that are best suited to you. If you are auditioning for a musical, you will asked to sing the song you prepared.

What if I have a question about the play or the rehearsal schedule or something?
We are unable to respond personally to any requests for any information about rehearsals, etc. If you have any questions, please come to the audition and ask the director in person.
