Our 2005/6 Season

Black Coffee

Written by Agatha Christie

Directed by John Lynd

Presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

Agatha Christie fans will be thrilled and delighted by this "new" and little known mystery. The play was written in 1934 but, until recently, unavailable in the United States. Detective Hercule Poirot has received a summons at his breakfast table from England's premier physicist, Sir Claud Amory. Busy working on the formula for the atom bomb, Amory suspects a member of his household of espionage. Of course, by the time Poirot arrives, Amory is suddenly and mysteriously dead. Poirot heroically manages both to solve the mystery and to protect the secrets of the British Empire.
